I got my first domain & hosting  https://strategyworks.in from net4india.in and after 2 years, I moved to the HostGator server. As in those days, it was a good and affordable hosting. Initially, I had the basic single domain hosting and then after 1 year, I migrated to multidomain hosting as I added 2 more websites into the hosting.

It was good, and I was also recommending most of the people to go ahead with the Hostgator, as their support was good, I got support form them not only related to the server but also on website part as well. This is really remarkable and useful for me, as I’m not from the technical side.

Now from 2 years, I’m thinking of migrating the hosting server, as I saw a huge downfall in the service, in fact, it started getting worse since they upgraded their Cpanel and all the good benefits were off the Cpanel.

I’m having shared hosting baby plan;

Now let’s try to understand this package;

For a common man it looks like this; its unlimited domain, disk space & unlimited transfer

I have 3 domain and 3 subdomains running on the plan; here is the screenshot, what I got it from support;

This says I’m running out of the disk space; by the way, the unlimited disk space which is mentioned here the max limit is just 40GB( which is enough).

If this is good, where is the problem and why the site is not working; support do not have an answer; I suggested them to do virus scan ( in the new Cpanel, virus scan feature is taken out, if you wish to scan your server, you have to ask the support team to get it done).

This move seems to be taken by the company to sell the security solution as an addon service.

Now, let’s see what was really causing the problem, even if I got ahead with the highest package Business package, my issue will not get resolved; the reason is the iNODE limit; the hard limit on every Cpanel is maximum 250000- files, if this is crossed, the site will not work even you won’t be able to login to Cpanel, the only solution is to delete some files from the Cpanel using the FTP application.

So, Now for multi-domain hosting what is the solution? technically 3 solutions for the migrating hosting server.

1. Go with the reseller hosting plan, in this way for every Cpanel you will get the hard limit of 2 lakh inodes
2. Go with VPS server: virtual private server, here inode is not applicable
3. And also go with the dedicated server: here also inode is not applicable, as told by the support team.

My hunt for a good hosting ;

Firstly I thought to get single hosting for every domain, but overall it seems to be a costly affair, then thought of looking at reseller hosting, VPS, and Dedicated hosting.

Let’s try to understand these hosting and their main usages;

Reseller hosting: this hosting is good for people who want to do the business of selling hosting spaces, most of the training institutes they buy reseller hosting and sell it to their students on higher rates. So if you are a training institute and want to make some extra income you could buy reseller hosting and start making additional income.

VPS hosting: its virtual private hosting. It is like on a physical drive, there is partition and you are allocated the space on that, in the common term, it’s a hosting which is giving better performance than shared hosting and somewhat benefits of the dedicated server also.

Dedicated server; here in this service the dedicated IP address and the machine are dedicated to your website, no one else is sharing the resources of this server. It comes at a price and is costly also.

For my new hosting what all factors I’m considering;

1. Performance of the server; I’m referring to server response time
2. Cpanel features: host of other useful scripts on the server
3. Cost: easy for the pocket

I searched a lot on the internet to find the unbiased performance report; trust me I could not find any( REASON: whatever website you will find everyone has given comparison basis the commission people get in selling the affiliate products of respecting hosting service providers).

After lots of research, I’m finally going ahead with inmotion hosting. Why?

Here is the comparison of inmotion hosting with other service providers;

1. They are giving SSD, which gives much better performance compared to normal HDD
2. Free Website migration; 5 Cpanel with up to 5 GB of data.
3. Cpanel with all the required software and scripts.

Here are some questions people are asking about the hosting;

Question: Which is the best and free web hosting sites for multiple domains and good cPanel?

Answer: In my opinion, I would recommend going ahead with either reseller hosting or VPS hosting, inmotion has both reseller hosting & VPS hosting. Compare the rates with others and take decisions. A good web hosting is very much needed for SEO of your website. So it’s very important to take this decision

Question: Is HostGator the best for hosting a website?

Answer: In my opinion, now I won’t be recommending the HostGator to anyone. All I could say, stay away from EIG companies hosting.

Question: Which hosting is better Hosting Raja, Godaddy, Hostgator, Siteground, or Bluehost for migrating hosting server?

Answer: Among all these, I would prefer to refer Sitegrounds and then Bluehost ( it is also part of EIG, but to some extent, server rating is good).

Question: Is Bluehost owned by HostGator?

Answer: Yes, Bluehost is also part of the same parent company Endurance international group.
